1. President Obama announces delegation to attend anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at 7:35 pm

WASHINGTON D.C. (BNO NEWS) – President Barack Obama designated on Wednesday a Presidential Delegation that will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the ceremony commemorating the 15th anniversary of the Srebrenica Genocide next Sunday.

The delegation will be led by Charles English, the U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He will be joined by Stephen Rapp, Ambassador-at-Large for war crime issues, and Samantha Power, the Special Assistant to the
President and Senior Director for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights.

From July 11 to July 22, 1995, 8,372 Muslim Bosniak men and boys were systematically murdered by the Bosnian Serb army in Srebrenica during the Bosnian War.

In 1993, the United Nations (UN) declared Srebrenica as a safe area under the UN protection. The UN Protection Force (UNPROFOR) allocated a 400 contingent of armed Dutch peacekeepers. However the UNPROFOR was unable to prevent and stop the massacre.

The Army of the Republika Srpska, under the command of General Ratko Mladic, targeted for extinction the 40,000 Bosnian Muslims living in Srebrenica. They separated all the males from their families and proceeded to murder them. They also expelled around 25,000 to 30,000 people in a massive ethnic cleansing campaign.

The Srebrenica genocide is the largest mass murder in Europe since World War II. So far, 6,186 victims have been identified from 70 mass graves through DNA analysis.

COMMENT: At least somebody knows who committed genocide, “the Bosnian Serb army”.

2. July 11 is not only the day of the World Cup Final, but also the sad anniversary of genocide in Srebrenica

Open letter to Nelson Mandela

Dear Dr. Nelson Mandela,

On 11. July 1995, in the UN safe zone of Srebrenica, 8300 Bosnian men and boys were seized by paramilitary forces of the breakaway “Republic of the Serbs”, and brutally murdered. This crime was judged to be GENOCIDE by UN’s International Court of Justice.

This year, 11. July 2010, the 15th anniversary of the genocide, coincides with the world cup final match, which takes place in your homeland.

Mr. Mandela, you, better than anyone else, understand the evil of murder and repression of innocent people because they carry a different “label” such as race, ethnicity or religion. Through your lifetime of struggle against such evil, you have gained a voice that is heard around the world. Please use your voice now to give a voice to the 8300 Bosnians who can speak no more.

Please ask for South Africa and FIFA to grant one minute of silence before the final match, in order to remember the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Respectfully yours,

Dr. Tarik Borogovac, NCR BiH

3. Statement of Prof. Boyle regarding the World Cup Final

The Dutch National Team will be playing for the World Cup upon the fifteenth anniversary of the genocidal massacre at Srebrenica for which the Dutch National Government is jointly and severally responsible under international law. Furthermore, for the past 15 years the Dutch National Government has lied about, covered up, whitewashed, and stonewalled the fact that it cooperated in the massacre of 8000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica, also rendering the Dutch National Government an Accessory After the Fact to the “genocide” at Srebrenica, as determined by the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the so-called World Court.

For these reasons, the Mothers of Srebrenica and Podrinja call upon all people of good faith and good will around the World, especially those at the World Cup Stadium in South Africa, to publicly root against the Dutch National Team in sympathy with the Victims at Srebrenica.

We will not rest until Justice is done!
